First Horizon Bank (previously Capital Bank & First Tennesee) is offering a $300 sign up bonus after opening up a new BizEssentials checking account and make an initial deposit of $5,000 or more. Then complete at least 5 qualifying transactions within 30 days of account opening.

Receive $150 after opening a BizEssentials savings account and deposit at least $2,500.

Offer is only available to residents of AR, AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN, and VA. No direct deposit is required. There is a monthly fee of $15 but can be avoided. Must wait six months to avoid early account termination fee and forfeiting bonus. Offer expires June 30, 2020.

You basically get $450 for moving money around. Be sure to stay organized and keep track of everything so that you don't miss bills. I sign up for these and make a checklist of all my auto-pay bills and accounts that are connected to my current bank account. I then set up the new bank account, change my direct deposit over and all my auto pay accounts. I then use Todoist.com to set a reminder for myself to change everything back at the end of the time frame. Example: “Change pay accounts and close First Horizon Bank six months from today p1 #finance”. Todoist will automatically set a reminder for me exactly six months from the day I enter that, set it to priority 1 so that it stands out as red on my list and adds it to my Finance project in Todoist. Then six months from today, I will see it pop up on my list and remind me to cancel.
